EFIC is proud to be a part of the National Indigenous Cadetship Project (NICP), which seeks to provide professional guidance and mentorship to Indigenous students. In support of this project, EFIC has a vacancy for a full time university student undertaking a degree in Science (environmental, geology, agriculture) or a broad Business degree, to join our team supporting cross-border financial transactions. Civil and Environmental Engineering students will also be considered. You will have the opportunity to develop your understanding of cross-border finance and the assessment and management of risk, by participating in activities that support the review of upcoming international trade transactions. Key activities include: - Review of an exporter’s capacity to fulfil a contract, such as review of exporter capability and product;
- Review of the technical requirements of contract documentation;
- Environmental assessment and management plans, including: benchmarking against international standards, and undertaking background research on international issues of relevance to the transaction.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Legal Services team for a qualified lawyer to work on a range of high-quality international finance transactions, within a collegiate and supportive environment. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will provide commercially sound legal advice to internal clients on transactional matters and product development. In cooperation with internal clients you will negotiate, draft and settle on a broad range of internationally focused finance and insurance transaction documentation, including commercial and sovereign loans, export finance guarantees, performance bonds, political risk insurance, and reinsurance. This is a unique opportunity to interface with a broad cross section of the organisation and to be involved with a diverse range of products and on corporate matters. To be considered for this opportunity you will be a qualified lawyer with 8 - 10 years PQE, with strong transactional experience in Project or Structured Finance, preferably including cross-border transactions. Australia’s export credit agency, EFIC, helps Australian companies to export and invest overseas by providing finance, finance guarantees, insurance and bonding facilities. A unique opportunity has emerged for an experienced economist to join the economics team, to provide country risk analysis of complex transactions in difficult markets. Reporting to the chief economist, you will also make presentations to clients, industry associations, and other internal and external stakeholders. The position offers a chance to get away from the standard short-term, up-and-down economics. Requirements: - Strong degree in economics at honours level or higher;
- Familiarity with Open Economy Macroeconomics, Money & Banking, and economic statistics/forecasting;
- At least five years’ work experience;

EFIC has over 50 years experience in providing specialist finance and insurance services to Australian companies exporting and investing overseas. Reporting to the Chief Credit Officer, your role will be to ensure engineering, technical, environmental and social risks associated with financial transactions are identified, assessed and managed appropriately. The role requires expertise across all of these fields, a strong commercial aptitude, and a consultative style. You will present the results of your analysis in written and verbal forms to a range of internal and external stakeholders, and must be able to adapt your communication to suit the needs of this varied audience. Requirements: - Tertiary educated in a technical discipline (eg engineering or environmental);
- You will have well developments negotiation and communicatiosn skills gained from a consultancy or similar environment;
- Work experience on overseas projects;
- Exposure to international environmental policies;
- Knowledge or project finance is highly desirable.
